Car accident in NYC results in ten injured victims

Pedestrians in New York City are constantly at risk of injury by fast-moving taxis, speeding cars, public buses, rapid-moving motorcycles, and hurried bicycles. An accident near Times Square involving three cars injured ten people, including at least three pedestrians. The incident occurred at the intersection of 42nd Street and 6th Avenue at approximately 9:00 p.m. A Chevy Impala was stopped at a red light when a speeding Jaguar rear-ended the Chevy. The impact caused the Impala to spin around and hit a taxi that was carrying two passengers.

The Jaguar flipped over and landed on the sidewalk in front of the Starbucks hitting some pedestrians. The drivers of both vehicles plus a passenger in the Impala were taken to Bellevue Hospital and were in critical condition.

Five others including three pedestrians were also taken to the hospital and were in serious condition. Two people refused treatment and so far no one has been cited in the accident. An investigation is ongoing.
