Ju Xiang Chen, a food delivery worker from Brooklyn was killed by a teenage driver while riding his scooter. Chen was driving down Avenue V and Gerritsen Avenue when a Nissan car crashed into him. The accident occurred around 8:25 p.m.
Kathryn Foris, the driver of the Nissan, went through a red light. Chen was flipped off the motor scooter and landed on top of the car’s hood. Witnesses testified that they saw the driver leave the scene of the accident. Unfortunately, the injuries Chen suffered were traumatic and he was pronounced dead at the scene.
The New York police have charged Foris with leaving the scene of an accident. Officers are continuing their investigation of this unfortunate hit and run accident.
