Man Killed In Brooklyn Car Accident After A Taxi Runs Red Light
Brooklyn, NY –Three cars collided at a Brooklyn intersection after a taxi ran a red light, killing one driver. The accident occurred at the intersection of Nosrand Ave. and Eastern Parkway in Crown Heights about 9:25 p.m. on Thursday. The taxi was driving east on the parkway and crashed into the victim’s car, a black SUV. The car caught on fire and the driver was trapped. A security guard pulled the victim out of the burning car, but the man, 51, died at Kings County Hospital. The SUV hit the car Vermarie Petit-Frere of Queens was driving. Petit-Frere was not injured in the accident. The driver of the taxi was taken into custody by the police and charges may be filed.
